SCARSDALE GARDENS AND POLLINATOR MEADOW
Scarsdale, NY
Beresford Landscape Design worked closely with LA Mark Kwan of Cummin Associates to complete site work and masonry installations for this extensive property renovation in Scarsdale, NY. Since the installation, BLD has continued to provide site maintenance and fine gardening services for the property as well. Amenities installed and maintained by BLD include a pool and pool terrace with lawn joints; a series of parterre gardens with bluestone edging; a system of stone walls, steps, and paths; and numerous planting beds with a variety of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, and spring bulbs. BLD also maintains a Boxwood “cloud” on site, an evergreen topiary sculpted in seamless, undulating form.
In 2023, BLD designed and installed a native pollinator meadow on the site. The meadow was designed to reflect the homeowner’s desire to reduce lawn space and lawn care, and the desire for more garden space. The resulting plant installation is a blend of native species and hybrid cultivars that support local pollinators, and provide continual garden interest that changes with the seasons. Species include native Butterfly Weed, Hyssop, Bee Balm, and ornamental grasses.
Beresford Landscape Design completed site masonry for the project, following the original landscape construction drawings. BLD also installed all site plantings and designed and installed the native pollinator meadow. BLD continues to provide additional planting design services for the property.
